Welcome Blog Readers

Welcome to Boulder Nebraska where our goal is to bring Progressive Boulder, Colorado values to Nebraska. We are not some group of Astroturfers that pretend to be progressive while they pick-up a paycheck. Some times being BOLD doesn't cut it. You have to be BOULDER!!!

NO NEED TO RUN, OBAMA SECURES VICTORY!

Sorry folks, for being off for a week. I went back home to Colorado and helped on Michael Bennett's race to secure the Democratic nomination for the US Senate election this fall. I was so happy to see President Obama's choice beat President Clinton's candidate in this important race. You may be asking why this race in Colorado is important to Nebraskans? I believe that our Progressive candidates running here this fall should embrace President Obama like we did in Colorado and have him come here to energize the electorate. Imagine a Rally for Tom White with President Obama present in front of 10,000 energized voters. This would be a big boost for us Progressives and actually help give Tom White a huge momentum boost for this fall. What are your thoughts Progressive readers? Should the president come here and campaign?

FROLIC AT THE FAIR!!! KLEEB ESCORTED OUT???

No readers, this is not an actual picture of Jane Flemming Kleeb. However, we have become more and more aware of an incident that may have occurred at the Adams County Fair the same day as our Democratic State Convention was being held in Columbus. Apparently, Democratic Delegate Kleeb decided not to attend the convention that day in order to be with her husband at his company's booth. Our source told us that Scott Kleeb's fair booth was right next to the local right to life chapter's booth and from what we could gather the exchange between the two booths got so heated that Ms. Kleeb may have been asked to leave the Adams County Fair. It is also alleged that security may have been involved.

Well Jane we support you on this one!!! If Jane was asked to leave, were the anti-choicers asked to leave as well. Also doesn't Jane have the right to express her pro-choice positions in the face of anti-choice zealots. We have given Jane a lot of grief in the past few weeks, but she may be in the right on this one. If anyone has more information on this alleged incident, please e-mail me.

IT'S HEMP DAY!!!

Some people on Wednesday want to celebrate "Hump Day". However, because we are a Progressive Blog, we at Boulder Nebraska want to Celebrate "Hemp Day". We are tired of the Conservative mantra that all marijana is bad. Coming from Boulder, Colorado I can personally tell you that for medicinal purposes marijuana can be a savior for the ill and those that suffer from chronic pain.

This "Hemp Day" I want to thank Brian T. Osborn for having the Nebraska Democtratic Party adopt a resolution supporting the use of Medical Marijuana in Nebraska. The resolution stated "The Nebraska Democratic Party supports and promotes the legalization of medicinal marijuana." All of us that support the use of marijana should than Brian T. Osborn for getting the legalization of this important drug on Nebraska Democratic Party's political agenda.

THANKS BRIAN!!! - Mary Jayne Fields

WE HAVE A CANDIDATE!!!!

Finally we have a candidate Nebraska Progressives. I had the privilege of watching Mike Meister on Saturday accept the Democratic state convention's gubernatorial nomination. It was amazing to see all the delegates show unanimous support and cheer for his candidacy.

What I was most impressed with is that Meister went on the attack and accused Governor Heineman of fiscal mismanagement and lack of leadership. Meister also went after the governor on his record concerning his record on Health & Human Services. We need a man like Mike Meister that will tell Nebraskans what needs to be done like increase funding across the board to all of our important state agencies and raise taxes on those who have not paid their fair share over the years. It is also important that we have a candidate that believes in abortion rights, unlike the current governor. If we are going to make Nebraska a Blue State and move forward with our progressive agenda, we need Mike Meister as governor!!!

Jane where were you yesterday????

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS!!

Well it seems Jane Kleeb and Bold Nebraska are having a fun at Lee Terry's expense on the New York Post's story concerning Congressman Terry allegedly making a statement concerning his drinking with a Lobbyist. We don't know whether it is true or not so we will legitimate journalists cover that story. What concerns us is that why are we Progressives not focusing on issues that really matter. Why are we not talking about Global Warming, Health Care, Poverty, and the other issues that are important to our cause. If I was Dick Holland, I would be embarrassed that the organization I bought and paid for is on the clock coming up with sophomoric humor, and I quote this from Jane herself on facebook, "What is your song idea for Lee "why did you get me so drunk" Terry's play list?"

Well Jane, we at Boulder Nebraska have a game too. It's called make a caption with the photo above. I'll start the comments. "Wow I hope my husband doesn't know the guy next to me got me drunk" or better yet "8 shots of Tequila make my lips numb." This is only make believe readers. We don't know if she is intoxicated, we're just having fun.

PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPELINE AND SMOKE IT!!!

Well Boulder Nebraska fans, we are back!!! It seems Jane Flemming Kleeb was instrumental in taking down our page on Facebook. How do we know this? Well this is what she posted on her Facebook page, "Boulder Nebraska pages and profiles have all be taken down because they were FAKE...mess with the bull, you get the horns". Jane also admitted that she was the one that filed a complaint with Facebook about our group. I thought us liberals were the ones that defended free speech!!! No readers, Jane is not liberal, progressive or about helping Nebraskans, she is all about getting her name out and getting paid. From one cause to another and one paycheck to another she has been wreaking havoc on the Democratic Party and the issues we care about. Were not going anywhere Jane so "Put that in your pipeline and smoke it"!!!!

Ok so on with the Post. It seems Jane and the Bold Nebraska gang is behind killing to kill a new oil pipeline from being built in our state. We at Boulder Nebraska are not big fans of fossil fuel but we are not naive to think that our cars are all going to be electric overnight either. What concerns us is this frantic pitch Bold Nebraska is taking to kill the pipeline. Well we at Boulder Nebraska say follow the money. Many of these Astroturfing groups are formed through questionable funding sources with shadowy corporate ties. Bold Nebraska doesn't do anything for free so it will be interesting to see who gives to the "Bold Nebraska" cause.

Also, we have noted they are doing a little web broadcast tonight on the safety of this proposed pipeline and claim to have a "panel of experts" to answer questions. So who is this panel of experts? Well here are the names:

Paul Blackburn, Plains Justice
Marty Cobenais, Indigenous Environmental Network
Duane Hovorka, Nebraska Wildlife Federation
Ernie Fellows, Nebraska Landowners for Fairness
Ken Winston, Nebraska Sierra Club
Jane Kleeb, Bold Nebraska

I don't see any metallurgists, oil experts, or specialist that know anything about pipelines on this list. I do see one Jane Flemming Kleeb that Studied at Stetson University in areas of Religious Studies, Leadership Studies and the all important Women and Gender studies. Her grad school resume is no different either. So tell me readers how can she be an expert on oil pipeline safety? The answer is that she can't and this is how our cause is hurt by having so called experts create panic when there is nothing to fear. If this pipeline is dangerous then I want the facts from a PhD or some pipeline expert and not some person that just got done working for the SEIU. Nebraskans deserve better.
